Foundation, CTI projects, studies
Supporting science and research is a key part of our commitment to quality, innovation and knowledge.
Burgerstein Foundation
In order to continue Dr Lothar Burgerstein’s great commitment, the Uli P. Burgerstein Foundation for the International Promotion of Orthomolecular Medicine was established in 1987. To this day, the Foundation remains committed to the teaching of orthomolecular medicine and disseminates knowledge internationally through training courses, conferences and publications. Several international studies on the use of micronutrients have been supported by funding from the Foundation.
Working together for folic acid prevention: Burgerstein Vitamins and the Swiss Folic Acid Foundation
Drawing on our many years of experience in the field of micronutrients, we at Burgerstein Vitamins are committed to providing scientifically sound information. Together with the Swiss Folic Acid Foundation, we are dedicated to educating the public about the importance of an adequate intake of folic acid and raising awareness of prevention.
Folic acid (vitamin B9) plays a central role in cell division and blood formation and is of particular importance for the healthy development of the unborn child, especially during pregnancy.
The Swiss Folic Acid Foundation provides information on the important role of folic acid – particularly when planning a pregnancy and during early pregnancy – and is committed to the prevention of neural tube defects as well as supporting affected families. Further information on the foundation can be found at: ((LINK https://stiftung-folsäure.ch)).

CTI projects
The CTI project enables us to carry out application-oriented research and development. In the Laboratory of Human Nutrition at ETH Zurich, we have found a partner that provides us with optimal support in the scientific innovation of our products.
Studies
As a reliable research partner, we are regularly given the opportunity to make our products available for use in studies conducted by universities, hospitals and doctors. This is an invaluable opportunity to document efficacy and tolerability even more effectively, and to incorporate the insights gained into the development of new products and the formulation of improved ones.
